It aims to inform and clarify the potential and sustainability of expanding sugarcane-derived biofuels and bioproducts. Additionally, it highlights modern sugarcane management practices that position bioethanol as a leading sustainable biofuel. Brazil’s agricultural model and technological advancements are outlined demonstrating how bioenergy generates socio-economic benefits and reduces emissions without requiring extensive land areas. The discussion will also cover the potential for biofuel production in the global south.
