At La Estrella sugar mill in Panama, site-specific precision agriculture is being used on some sugarcane blocks where production had declined rapidly by the second-ratoon harvest. The study area is about 150 ha at three sites within the plantation. Tools such as soil maps based on apparent electrical conductivity (ECa), NDVI maps, drone flights, and soil descriptions were used. Changing the management of some activities such as irrigation, fertilization and replanting, and applying biostimulants has increased yield with no additional production cost. Production was stable in the plant crop, increased by 10% in the first ratoon and increased by another 10% in the second ratoon.
