A study of the diseases and animal pests affecting sugarcane on the Dagoberto Rojas farm was carried out as part of the Comprehensive Development of Precision Agriculture at the Jesús Rabí Sugar Mill in Matanzas, Cuba, using data recorded by the Phytosanitary Service. The results showed the presence of smut (Sporisorium scitamineum), brown rust (Puccinia melanocephala), stem borers (Diatraea saccharalis), defoliators (Mythimna ssp.), leafhoppers (Perkinsiella saccharicida), and rodents between 2010 and 2020. All diseases and animal pests recorded were in the Light infection category, with the exception of rodents which was Medium. Based on the results, recommendations are made to producers to minimize pest losses. The release of Lixophaga diatraeae contributed to reducing the incidence of stem borers, and it is recommended to continue this practice and to improve the genetic diversity of commercial cultivars to increase resistance.
